
Join me in my knitwear design studio in Boston’s South End for a fun night of knitting, wine sipping, and chatting. In this class, we’re going to go beyond the basics and learn how to knit in the round using Stephen West’s Purl Ridge Cowl. This piece is the perfect ‘next project’ after a simple scarf. This workshop is great for anyone who has already taken the first Stitch, Sip & Shop Workshop and wants to take their skills to the next level. Here’s what you need to know before (we can do a review, but it’s good to come prepared): Casting on The knit stitch Here’s what we’re going to learn: The purl stitch Knitting in the round on circular needles How to read and follow a pattern Binding off **PLEASE NOTE: Materials for this class will NOT be provided for this workshop. Please purchase your materials ahead of time. Message me if you need help on where to get materials!** Here’s what you’ll need: 300 yards (approx. 2 balls) of a Worsted Weight yarn – For a more springtime cowl, try a light weight yarn like cotton or viscose 1 32″ US Size 8 Circular Knitting needle – If you can only find a 24″ or 29″ long needle, that’s fine, as long as it’s size US8 1 Stitch Marker 1 Tapestry/Darning Needle
