Ninja-like Knife Skills 101
From chopping to julienne to honing your knife...I will give you all the proper techniques for creating a better cooking experience. This is a hands-on 2 1/2 to 3 hour class with a fun and entertaining trained culinary instructor. I will teach you all the basics of: -Holding a knife properly -Essential knives everyone should have -Care and storage of knives -Honing vs. sharpening -Small, medium and large dice -Julienne -Brunoise -Chopping -Mincing -Chiffonade -Rough chop, fine chop for herbs -Supreme All materials will be provided for your class: cutting boards, food, aprons, towels, recipes and knives*. Please feel free to bring your own knives for use. This is for all skill levels and closed toe shoes are required. All classes are 18 years and older unless otherwise specified. You may bring in your own beer or wine for consumption after the knife skills portion has been completed. Alcohol may be consumed only by persons 21 years and older. The students will prepare a meal from the products prepared in the knife skills class. Master your knife skills and bring them up to a ninja level. *throwing stars not included
I am a trained Culinary Instructor ready to teach you in a fun, non-pressure environment suited for all skill levels. I love to teach and make learning fun. However, I take my job very seriously because I want you to leave your lesson with a new skill that you can be proud of. I was trained in savory and pastry instruction at Westlake Culinary Institute. While there, I learned amazing skills from a master chef with many years of experience. I then started teaching classes after I earned my certificates of completion.
