Intro to Rock Climbing (Indoor): Bouldering 102
Rock climbing has become super popular in the last few years — gyms are opening left and right across the world (there are now 4 in Austin!) and climbing will be in the 2020 Olympics! Bouldering — climbing with no ropes or harnesses, but on shorter walls — is a form of climbing that is perfectly accessible to beginners and a fun full body & mind sport. My Bouldering 102 Course will pick up where 101 left off (or will advance climbing techniques you have previously learned. I'll walk you and a friend through the more advanced footwork and technique, and how to train to advance your skills even further, how to transition to climbing outdoors, and about what's next (so many other types of climbing!) Best of all, you'll advance your skills in one of the most fun and popular new sports — a sport I've been practicing for years and still love more and more every day. All you'll need to bring is yourself and some clothes that are comfortable to move in. You will need to pay for the cost of a day pass and rental shoes at whatever gym you decide to go to; prices vary.
I'm a fairly recent Austin transplant, originally from Portland, who loves rock climbing & the outdoors, graphic design & photography, cycling, and eating tacos constantly. Let's work on something together!
