About Your Host

The founder, Mohamed Kamal Bin Dollah, is a Singaporean artist with expertise in a variety of visual arts genre. He is world-renowned in the field of batik-painting and caricatures. He started Kamal Arts as a non-profit company to promote visual arts through sustainable art practice that provides fair employment for artists.

What we'll do

Start an exciting hobby or learn a new medium of art - batik. Bring your friends along, get creative and come create your own unique piece of artwork. What is Batik? Batik is a traditional wax technique for fabric design originating from Java. It is also an interesting medium for contemporary painting. What will I learn in this workshop? Participants will be introduced to the history of batik that relates to the South East Asian heritage, its traditional methods and be guided on the proper use of tools like the ‘tjanting’ and dye​ing. No pre-requisite skills required. When is the workshop held? Workshop will be held every Wednesday only Morning Session 10am - 12pm Afternoon Session 3pm - 5pm Evening Session 7pm - 9pm How much does each session cost? The workshop costs $20/session for one pax. Do I need to buy or bring any art materials? Please do not buy any art materials prior to attending.
