Beyond Beginning Knitting: Give and Take
If you can knit and purl, and are ready to take your knitting game to the next level, you're ready for Beyond Beginning Knitting! (Please note that some recent previous knitting experience is a must for this class.) In this Beyond Beginning class, we'll be making a cute and cozy lace headband. We'll focus on adding shape and design to knitting projects using increases and decreases. While making this project, you'll get familiar with just about every technique for adding and subtracting stitches! You'll also get to practice reading a complex pattern in both written and chart form, making i-cord, and we'll discuss how to block your finished work. In this small class, you’ll get plenty of individual attention from your instructor. You’ll learn an arsenal of useful tips and tricks and gain the confidence to tackle projects you never thought you could! YOU MUST BRING YOUR OWN SUPPLIES TO THIS CLASS. YOU WILL NEED: * 1 skein, medium weight yarn, wool or other natural fiber * US Size 8 (4.5 mm) 16" circular knitting needle * Yarn needle * Decorative button (for finishing) * Pencil or pen
I created You're Crafty! Craft and DIY classes because I love making things and I want you to love making things, too. I'm a lifelong crafter. My areas of specialty include knitting, crochet, sewing, cross stitch, and making costumes. I offer a variety of small, intimate classes for all experience and skill levels. You'll have fun and meet new friends while challenging yourself to learn something new. When I'm not making stuff or teaching others how to make stuff, I'm walking/running in the Berkeley hills (walking up the hills, running down them), snuggling with my cats, and performing with Bay Area Flash Mob (often as a zombie). See you in class! Let's craft together!
