Sewing for Beginners: Easy Lined Tote Bag
This class is for absolute beginners and advanced beginners! All welcome: If you've never sewn before, this class will introduce you to machine sewing! You'll learn all the basics, from the parts of a sewing machine to using a pattern. If you’ve taken my pillowcase class, or if you haven’t sewn in a long time and need a refresher, this class is a great way to review your basic sewing skills while making a fun new project. Your creation: This cute, lined tote will hold your books, your laptop, or your groceries with DIY flair – and it’s so easy to make, even if you’ve never used a sewing machine before! In this small class, you’ll sip complimentary wine while you get plenty of individual attention from your instructor. You’ll take home a finished lined tote bag that you'll use for years! What you get: Three-hour beginning sewing class with personal instruction. Fabric and matching thread. Pattern. Tutorial handout packet. Use of sewing machine, scissors, pins, bobbin, cutting table, iron and ironing board, and other tools. Complimentary wine and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided; students may also BYOB to share.
I created You're Crafty! Craft and DIY classes because I love making things and I want you to love making things, too. I'm a lifelong crafter. My areas of specialty include knitting, crochet, sewing, cross stitch, and making costumes. I offer a variety of small, intimate classes for all experience and skill levels. You'll have fun and meet new friends while challenging yourself to learn something new. When I'm not making stuff or teaching others how to make stuff, I'm walking/running in the Berkeley hills (walking up the hills, running down them), snuggling with my cats, and performing with Bay Area Flash Mob (often as a zombie). See you in class! Let's craft together!
