Learn to make a knotted net bag to carry a water or wine bottle or a few groceries! We'll use Paracord and learn several basic knots. I'll share tales from my travels in Iceland and Holland. You'll also receive a few supplies to take with you to start your next net project. Come learn this meditative and useful textile practice in a small group setting with light snacks provided.
Sarah Pedlow, artist and owner of ThreadWritten Textiles, attended an artist’s residency in Iceland last summer where she learned net-making from a man who has made nets since he was a boy and worked in the fishing industry for over 25 years. Just last month she traveled in Holland where she learned more about net-making at the Zuiderzee Museum in Enkhuizen.
