Guitar Classes On Clark
Grab a guitar, invite a friend and join in any Thursday @ 7pm from September 15 - November 17. The Brimfield 2nd Floor Gallery is a cozy place to learn a new song or two and even add some puzzle pieces to your music theory knowledge! Class topics are supported by great songs from a variety of genres and styles while we focus on developing key skills and having some FUN. Songs and discussions are accessible to players of any experience level... but VERY beginning players may want to consider a private lesson or two before joining the moderate pace of a class.
I've loved music all of my life and have expressed it ever since I was old enough to work a stereo. My first big musical impressions were the R&B, pop, and country l.p's and 45's around the house, and continue to be stylistic themes in alot of what I do musically and in the classroom. My first instrument was a drum kit at 6 years old and, tho I started focusing on guitar at 7, the percussive urge is still strong and informs my guitar technique and songwriting. I've taught professionally since 1995 and have developed a unique, chord-based music teaching style that caters to the desired direction and specific needs of an individual or class. I currently teach Guitar at Classes on Clark Thursday nights @ 7:00, at The Old Town School Of Folk Music 4 days a week, offer private lessons Sat-Thu, record constantly:) and play in 2 Chicago bands, Jagweeds and Vandabobs.
