Join green beauty cosmetic scientist, Marla Bosworth, and learn what it takes to formulate your own organic, moisturizing body creams. After this workshop you'll know how to formulate for different skin types. You'll also have all the information you need to starting making your own products to sell. Or if you choose to just make them for friends and family, this class is also for you. This class is perfect for newbies, spa owners, estheticians, green beauty entrepreneurs, massage therapist and for those who are currently making creams, but unsure if they are making them properly. We will make several batches together as a class using natural ingredients. Students will then choose from a variety of essential oils to blend scents so that everyone will go home with products they love! You'll receive an information-packed class handout with detailed instructions, formulas, formulating guidelines and a valuable supplier list. Marla Bosworth is the CEO and President of Back Porch Soap Company. She is a soap and cosmetic formulator who teaches natural skincare workshops throughout the U.S. Marla has been making soap, blending essential oils and natural perfumes as well as formulating cosmetics for 20 years. Marla has more than 30 years of expertise in Retail Sales, Business Development, Strategic Planning, Market Research, Product Development and Marketing She teaches business and cosmetic formulation classes near her home in Boulder, CO, New York City as well as through online seminars and webinars. She has been a guest lecturer at Wellesley College (Wellesley, MA) and the New York Botanical Garden. She also teaches entrepreneurial and beauty startup workshops as well as seminars on how to create natural skincare products at various venues and events. She is a published author, having written several self-published books as well as articles for The Saponifier Magazine. In addition, she has been a guest speaker at the Handcrafted Soapmakers Guild Conference in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.
