Mother and Daughter Pendants Class
This class will introduce both mother and daughter to the basic principals behind forming glass in the kiln to create beautiful fused glass pendants. You will be introduced to all of the tools, basic glass cutting and kiln forming theory. You will learn different design and color skills to help inform your decisions on how to layer your glass before it is fired. We will acquaint you with iridized and dicroic glass to create an electrifying design element in your pendants. When these one of a kind pieces come out of the kiln a Diablo staff member will attach a sterling silver bail by which to hang you pieces. Enjoy this nice mother-daughter experience!! When: Sunday 2:00pm - 6:00pm No experience necessary. All materials included. Diablo Glass School opened in 2001, creating a public access glass arts studio in Boston, Massachusetts. Diablo is a place where beginning and experienced glass artists are welcome to share a nurturing environment, to grow and develop their creative skills in a warm, inviting atmosphere. Diablo offers different level classes and facilities in various disciplines, exposing a broad spectrum of people to exciting glass techniques in glassblowing, flameworking, fused glass and stained glass. By connecting students to professional national and international glass artists, we provide a learning experience that constantly offers new information and challenges. Diablo currently has partnerships with institutions such as the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston University, Massachusetts College of Arts and Design, Decordova Museum and Sculptural Park, and Verlocal.
