Class #17493 Cartooning 101 (Four week class) 1/21, 1/28, 2/4, 2/11 (four meetings) Sundays, 10am-12pm University of Washington campus In this fun four-week cartooning class, aimed at beginners but open to all levels, you’ll learn how to create your own cartoon characters (similar to the character types found in Garfield, Doonesbury, Cathy and other humorous comic strips), even if you’ve never drawn before. You'll also learn ways to get your cartoons published, and ways it's possible to make money doing cartooning. This is a longer, more comprehensive version of the instructor's one-day Cartooning workshop, which is also available on Verlocal. MOST STUDENTS IN THIS CLASS ARE ADULTS. Teenagers are also welcome to attend. If the student is younger than a teenager, an adult will also need to sign up and attend along with them. Note: You can bring your own materials, or purchase an inexpensive materials kit (not included in course fee) in the class. (A representative from Artists and Craftsman Supply Store will be there for the first 20 minutes of class, for those who would like to buy kits.) (The kit for this class costs $35) This class meets on the University of Washington campus in Seattle.
