About Your Host

CookWithJames was launched in 2002 as an “underground supper club.” James would put together multiple course dinners using only organic ingredients from local farms. In December 2008 James decided to leave his job at an international online advertising & marketing agency and transform CookWithJames into a full-time business. CWJ offers several chef & catering services including private dinners, cooking classes and catered events. CookWithJames has been featured in many publications, including Jenn Garbee’s book “Secret Suppers” as well as on Daily Candy, Urban Daddy, 7x7 Magazine, AgencySpy and others.

What we'll do

Journey to España with Chef James! Gather your friends and head over to Chef James' house for one of his most exciting and popular cooking class dinners: PAELLA! The evening will include a series of Spanish tapas, a beautiful paella, Spanish salad, and dessert. The experience is interactive and Chef James is happy to share his knowledge and recipes so you can recreate everything at home. Guests are encouraged to participate in creating elements of the meal but some dishes and ingredients will be prepped before the class to save time. Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class. Aperitivos Tapas may include Spanish chorizo con quicos Skewers of cured anchovies and green olives Seared pimientos del padron Primero Seasonal green salad with coarse sea salt, sherry vinegar, and olio nuovo Segundo Spanish seafood paella with fresh gulf prawns, clams, mussels, English peas, piquillo peppers, lemon, and garlic aioli Chef James is happy to adapt paellas to accommodate guests' preferences.
