Intro to Dance (K - 3rd)
The primary purpose of the Simantikos "Intro to Dance: class is to help students gain: A readiness to practice and perform dance styles with attention to alignment and posture, vocabulary, musicality and rhythm. Dance 1 students will experience a dance class structured with a warm-up, technique, combination, and cool-down and will participate in each section of class while learning the kinesthetic importance of this structure. Students will expand on their knowledge of improvisational techniques by being challenged further with tasks like pattern-making, incorporating movement vocabulary, and expressing a feeling or idea.
