Developing a Pinhole Camera
“What the photograph reproduces to infinity has occurred only once: the photograph mechanically repeats what could never be repeated existentially” -Roland Barthes- This is Module #1 of my Camera/Photography Class Series! This module is also a 2-class series. DAY 1 Materials: All the material will be provided (The film material provided will be 35 mm. In case of another format, you will be suggested a place to go to in order to purchase the correct materials.) Learning Goals: Develop craftsmanship in the construction of a custom pinhole camera. Course Agenda: 1. Introduction of pinhole camera history. 2. Film sizes, focal distance and pinhole of the camera. 3. Pinhole exposure time. DAY 2 Materials: Film developing (You will be suggested a place to go and develop the film.) Learning Goals: Develop craftsmanship in the constriction of a custom pinhole camera. Course Agenda: 1. Correction and adjustment of the pinhole camera Please note that this module will take place over 2 days, 3 pm to 9 pm on each of day*: 26/2 MAR/APR 28/30 MAR 4/6 APR 30/6 JUL/AUG 13/20 AUG 27/3 AUG/SEP 10/17 SEP 24/1 SEP/OCT 8/15 OCT 22/29 OCT. *Time spent each day may be as much as 3 hours less depending on how many students sign up for the course The schedules could be changed to the convenience of the interested, with prior notice.
I am a designer and visual communicator. I studied at the Academy of Arts and Design of Mexico City, where I majored in photography. I am also a certified therapist. I taught various workshops in Mexico City, and now I am in Chicago to see the local art and provide all the knowledge that I have to all of the wonderful minds interested in my workshops!
