About Your Host

The American Rhythm Center is a program of the Chicago Human Rhythm Project. The new home for dance in Chicago, offering affordable classes for dancers of all levels and rehearsal spaces for dance and theater arts. Major funding has been provided by Elaine Cohen and Arlen Rubin, The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, The Gaylord and Dorothy Donnelley Foundation, The Joyce Foundation, The Boeing Company, Pamela Crutchfield, The Richard H. Driehaus Foundation, The MacArthur Fund for the Arts and Culture at Prince, Arts Work Fund for Organizational Development, the James. S. What we'll do

Taught by Deborah Darr, Nia is a sensory-based movement practice that draws from martial arts, dance arts and healing arts. It empowers people of all shapes and sizes by connecting the body, mind, emotions and spirit. Classes are taken to soul-stirring music from more than 45 countries. Every experience can be adapted to individual needs and abilities. Step into your own joyful journey with Nia, and positively shape the way you feel, look, think and live. Note: This class is designated for ages 18 and up.
