Join this shoe making class to further your improve your skills. During my 40 years of shoemaking, this ankle boot was selected by my clients far and above all other styles. In this class you’ll learn more skills than the Beginning Shoemaking class: Making and sewing lined straps, lining and turning edges, creating a higher wedge or heel, (up to 1.5 inches) installing buckles and conchos and (abbreviated) patterning. Some experience with machine sewing is necessary to get the full benefit of this class. There are many variations that can be created to make this design your very own. All materials, hardware and use of tools are included. This class takes place over the weekend: Class Time: 2 + days. Runs Friday night 7-9, Saturday 9-5pm and Sunday 9-5pm
We are dedicated to teaching the art of hand-making shoes and leather goods to promote self-sufficiency and sustainability. Our goal is to empower all people to enjoy a satisfying and liberating experience around creating footwear and leather work. "Buy a pair of shoes and you cover your feet for a year or two. Learn how to make shoes and you can shoe yourself, family and friends for a lifetime." :)) We use non-toxic glue while assembling the shoe uppers and shoemaking cement to attach the outer sole. We have an exhaust hood to limit exposure to any chemicals.
