A fun one day workshop held in Seattle, Washington! Want to learn the basics of filmmaking, but not ready to spend $100,000 or more for film school? This focused five-week class will teach you the key basics that'll get you started at a tuition you can afford. ✰ Crash Course in Filmmaking Sunday May 28 only 10 am-4pm University of Washington campus (Seattle) This is a THEORY class, in which you'll learn HOW movies are made. It's for folks who want to go out and make their own movies, but need to learn some key things first. You'll learn: • how to use camera angles to tell your story • how to film comedies, dramas and action movies • how to record high quality audio, • how to light your movie effectively • how to find actors and crew members to help you out with your movie • and how to find a camcorder or DSLR that has the features you want at a price you can afford. • what kind of editing software will give you the best results • how to get your movies distributed when they're completed If you're looking for a HANDS ON FILMMAKING class in which the students team up together to make a movie in class, see "Let's Make a Movie," also available on Verlocal, from the same instructor. The classes are intended to go together, to give students a better picture of not only the theory, but the practice of filmmaking.
