Crash Course in Acting
"Acting: What happens in an acting class? How do actors learn their craft?" If you have ever wondered about the how's and what's of an acting class, or if you have considered taking a class but weren't sure, this seminar is for you. In a 2 hour session, we will learn how actors learn to support their sound through breathing correctly, how to be spontaneous and playful and how to work with other actors on stage or screen. In this very safe environment, we will explore various acting exercises to give you a taste of an acting class, and to see if it is something you would like to further explore.
ElizaBeth Bontley has been teaching and performing, in NYC, Boston and Texas for decades. She graduated from the Circle in the Square Conservatory in NYC and hosts their yearly Dallas auditions. She received a MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts from Goddard College and has taught in college as well as professional studios. Class will be held at STAGE, a local organization to support actors and the industry, where ElizaBeth is also a faculty member.
