Mexican Mask Making Tradition in Paper Mache- Advanced ClassPart II Date: January 23 (Saturday) Time: 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM Location: The Finnish Brotherhood Hall, The Ski-Club Room 1970 Chestnut Street, Berkeley, CA 94702 Small Class- Limit approx. 12 attendees only This 2 hour class (120 minute class) is specifically designed for those artists that have completed one of the 2 hour Paper Mache classes taught by Diego Marcial Rios. This class is designed to increase your knowledge of: unique artistic techniques, hand/electric tools and interesting recycled materials used by professional artists. In this class techniques that are seldom mentioned, or even forgotten will be discussed and exhibited. In addition, more advanced painting techniques using acrylic paints without brushes will be demonstrated. 3 parts of Advanced Art Class Part 1 Tools and Materials Tools: burnisher, sand paper, Xacto-knife, dental tools Materials: toilet paper, newsprint, spackle, paper clay Part 2 Old or Lost Processes Gold Leaf Venetian” Crackle” Techniques Aluminum additions (aging techniques) Part 3 How to make paper mache or even paper look like bronze, rusted tin, or metal or iron Painting with sponges and acrylic paint End of class
