Want to take your knitting to the next level? Make exciting and intricate patterns in the round with the traditional stranded colorwork method known as Fair Isle (as seen in Boyland Knitwork's newest pattern, The Sunset Highway Sweater)! Adding simple colorwork to your technique repertoire is a great way to make your knits pop - you too can easily decorate hats, gloves, scarves, sweaters, and more with contrasting colors! We'll be working from a custom pattern that can be used to make a pair of fingerless gloves or a slouchy hat/beanie for your first project. *This is an intermediate level knitting class: you must be proficient with knitting in the round on either DPN's or circulars.* Student Requirements: You'll need to cast on and start the ribbing for your project before coming to class, so you can jump right into learning the technique. - Decide whether you want to make a slouchy beanie or a pair of fingerless gloves. - Choose 2 highly contrasting colors of DK weight yarn and size 6 DPN's for the gloves, or size 6, 16" circular needles for the hat. - If you need to purchase yarn or needles, visit The Black Squirrel ahead of time and you'll get a 10% discount on exactly what you need! - For the gloves, using your DPN's cast on 40 stitches and do 1" of k2, p2 ribbing. Do not cast off. - For the hat, using you circulars, cast on 100 stitches and do 1" of k2, p2 ribbing. Do not cast off. *Cancellation Policy* You must cancel your class reservation at least 72 hours in advance in order to receive a full refund. Classes cancelled after the 72 hour limit has passed will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis, either by partial refund or by rescheduling.
