Does that remind you of your Grandmother’s pearls? Yes? NOPE! We’ve taken the age-old technique and put a modern spin on it. The Choker.
Using silk thread and practice beads, you’ll learn the fundamentals of the knotting technique, including: fitting the thread to a bead’s size, hand-knotting by placing evenly-spaced knots between each bead and how to create a professional beginning -and ending- to your piece using findings.
In addition to providing solid-teaching skills, your Instructors will give lots of over-the-shoulder encouragement and one-on-one attention.
All tools and beads will be provided. An incremental materials fee of $10/per student will be collected on-site via credit/debit card or cash.

As Owner and Senior Instructor, Christy Sears brings a wealth of knowledge to the bench. With 15+ years of jewelry soldering and metal fabrication, endless patience and a healthy sense of humor, she creates a warm and welcoming learning environment. Not only does she believe in teaching "how", but "why" and this has made all of the difference to her students.
All of the August Axel Jewelry Studio instructors create the same atmosphere, so students may reach their goals.
