Join Chef Daniel for a night in Spain! You will be making and enjoying paella and two tapas, staples of Spanish cuisine. MENU: Tapas Tortilla de patatas (Spanish potato omelette; hands-on in groups of 2) Setas al ajillo (mushrooms with garlic, parsley, olive oil and lemon) (demonstration only) Main Course Seafood paella. Fully hands on in groups of 2 to 3. Every group will learn how to make a small paella indoors and without any specialized equipment, suitable for smaller dinner parties. We will also talk about how to use the same concepts to make the traditional paella, which is generally cooked outdoors on a grill. Salad Avocado, orange and tomato salad (prepared by Chef Daniel for your enjoyment) Dessert Flan w/dulce de leche (prepared by Chef Daniel for your enjoyment). The class will cover: Basic knife skills (demonstration and hands-on during the class) Different kinds of rice and how they get treated for different applications. Cooking shellfish and other seafood. Making a perfect paella. Eating what we make for dinner is always part of these events! Participants are encouraged to bring their own beverage.
