Have you ever been to Santa Monica's Original Muscle Beach and noticed the people walking on the slacklines between poles before? Have you ever wanted to try, but felt intimidated by the advanced people bouncing and surfing high, long and loose lines? Slacklining is a sport that involves stretching a flat nylon webbing between two points and using balance to walk across or jump dynamically on the webbing. Slacklining is proven to increase coordination, balance, strength, and stimulates weight loss and improves mental health! Anyone can slackline at any age, so it's never too late to learn! with the proper instruction, slacklining can also be used for therapy to improve proprioception in recovering knee/ankle/ hip surgery patients (with doctor's approval), drastically reducing recovery time. My name is Drayton John, I have been practicing slackline for over 5 years and have been teaching for 2 years. I provide instruction for individuals as well as groups, and also arrange outings in the Greater Los Angeles area for highlining and longlining in beautiful, scenic views. It is recommended that your first session be at least an hour long, where we will go over stretches, technique, proper rigging of the slacklines. Lines will be provided, however, you are welcome to bring your own. I also can teach you more advanced slacklining, such as tricklining, longlining and even more advanced rigging and styles. I look forward to your participation! Feel free to drop me a private message if you have any questions. Slack On!!!
