What to wear: Something you are comfortable in, but it doesn't restrict your movement. Shoes: leather or a smooth soled shoes work well. For ladies that like wearing heels try to keep them 2.5in or less. Flip flops and rubber soled shoes with grip are not recommended.
I was born in Oklahoma City, and raised in Texas. I didn’t have any exposure to dance until I joined the Navy. A friend gave me my first salsa lesson while we were deployed aboard the USS Pinckney. After I was honorably discharged, I went to school in Ventura for astrophysics. It was there that I took another salsa dance class at a studio nearby and was hooked. Eventually, I started teaching dance in my spare time. During my first performance, I realized I wanted to take dance seriously. I put school on hold to dance full time. I found immense happiness while I was dancing, but an even greater pleasure introducing others to this joy. Now my teaching repertoire includes: Salsa, Bachata, Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Rumba, Cha Cha, Blues, Swing, Merengue, Hustle, Club, Freestyle, Ballet, and Modern. I look forward to sharing this gift of dance with you.
