Chukka Boot Making Class
This course is taught by Aaron Osborn, co-founder of the brand Osborn Shoes, and in general, a fun guy :) In this 2-day course (or a 4 evening course), you will learn how to make a pair of boots using Osborn shoe last, patterns, and welted Vibram rubber sole. You will leave class with a finished pair of boots for you to wear proudly around - you made them! This class is for both women and men (size 6 women - size 12 men). Upon purchase/registration, we will contact you prior to class to finalize some info (like your shoe size). Workshops are about 6-7 hours in length each day. And we will have a break for lunch in between. Students trace the patterns, cut the uppers, sew them by hand, and assemble the uppers. Lasting will be assisted by Aaron, and the Vibram soles are attached with non-toxic glue (low-voc). Small class sizes to ensure a fun and productive time. *If you have your own leather color you'd like to use - you are allowed to bring that to class to use instead of what we have in stock.
Brooklyn Shoe Space's mission is to offer a fully equipped studio space for shoemakers, to encourage creativity in our community through fun + educational programming, and make shoe-making accessible to a wider audience.
