Learn to Make Shower Gel and Liquid Soap
Only 5 spots left! Did you know that liquid soaps outsell bar soaps? Come learn how to make your own liquid soaps and formulate shower gels and laundry soap. This class is only offered twice a year in NYC. Don't miss it! Each student will take home a foaming hand soap and a moisturizing shower gel. Liquid soaps are a great addition to a product line or to make at home for yourself and friends. We'll discuss the ways you can use this liquid soap base, infusing herbs, where to source ingredients, packaging options, price points of soaps, ingredients to consider for creating healing soaps and much more. Save money by making your own liquid soaps, or make money by adding them to your product lineup. This class is for beginner to advanced soapmakers. Students will receive soap recipes and a list of my favorite places to buy soap making supplies and equipment. You will learn safety guidelines and reach a level of comfort so that you can finally make liquid soap by hand at home! We'll discuss how to formulate your own recipes, properly use and store lye, mixing lye and water, oils for soap making, fragrance oils vs. essential oils, superfatting, additives and exfoliants, coloring, and more. Students will receive liquid soap recipes and a list of my favorite places to buy supplies and equipment.
Marla Bosworth is the CEO and President of Back Porch Soap Company. She is a soap and cosmetic formulator who teaches organic and natural skincare workshops throughout the U.S. Marla has been making soap, blending essential oils and natural perfumes as well as formulating cosmetics for 20 years. Marla has more than 30 years of expertise in Retail Sales, Business Development, Strategic Planning, Market Research, Product Development and Marketing She teaches business and cosmetic formulation classes near her home in Boulder, CO, New York City as well as through online seminars and webinars.
