About Your Host

Jenny Lemons is a colorful, modern line of hand-painted & block printed women's clothing and home goods run by San Francisco-based artist, Jennie Lennick. Her retail store in the Mission District is a community space where she facilitates DIY workshops, produces her products, and showcases the talents of other local artists. All products offered are manufactured locally in the San Francisco Bay Area. We are passionate about teaching others to slow down and create things by hand. We love helping our students make items to beautify their homes and give as gifts while learning traditional craft techniques. All of our teachers are formally trained artists, and bring this perspective into their teaching- we encourage students to experiment, express themselves, and have fun!

What we'll do

Learn the basics of screen printing to create printed items on paper and fabric! With the guidance of Jennie Lennick, the owner and designer behind Jenny Lemons, you will learn how to compose an image to print and how to adhere it to a screen with a chemical-free technique that is super easy to replicate at home! Using a screen printing squeegee, Jennie will teach you how to properly pull a print, sharing tips to make sure you get a good image every time. Once we’ve practiced, you will print your own original image onto paper greeting cards, poster paper, and your choice of two tea towels, a tote bag, or a work apron. If you're still itching to print we have lots more blank items available for purchase. Each student will leave class with a set of custom printed items. Please wear an outfit you can get paint on as screen printing can get messy! This three hour workshop includes all materials, snacks, beverages, and a 20% discount off of everything in our shop! Jennie Lennick is a San Francisco based artist, entrepreneur, and teacher. As a child in the Midwest, Jennie became enamored with traditional domestic craft, learning to sew and embroider. In 2010, She moved to the Bay Area to attend the San Francisco Art Institute, where she studied painting. Inspired by the natural beauty of Northern California, Jennie launched Jenny Lemons (), a collection of modern block printed and hand-painted women’s clothing and textiles. Jennie's work has been featured in publications like the San Francisco Chronicle, Brit + Co, and San Francisco Magazine. Her retail store in the Mission District of San Francisco is a community space where she facilitates DIY workshops, produces her products, and showcases the talents of other local artists.
