WRITING SHORT STORIES: A fun 4-week class!
Four meetings: NOTE: Dates/times have changed for the winter class: Writing fiction and short stories Sign up now for Winter 2017: Sundays 10 a.m.-12 noon 2/12-3/5 (four-week class) Location: University of Washington campus In this fun and focused four-week creative writing class, students will learn about the elements of short story writing, including plot, characterization, structure and point of view; get practice writing several short stories in class and between class meetings; and have opportunities to read them aloud and get feedback from others in the class. You’ll also learn how to copyright your short stories; learn strategies for getting your writings published; and learn ways to make money as a writer. Each meeting is two hours long, so there are a total of 8 hours in the course. You can bring a laptop or bring a pad and pen for in-class writing exercises. Instructor: Nils Osmar
