Brush & Bloom present Christmas Crafternoon: Chocolate, Wreath & Card Making
Just in time for the holidays, join us for a Christmas crafternoon where you'll spend an entire afternoon indulging in the ultimate crafting session with three renown makers in Seattle! At this Crafternoon, you'll make chocolate truffles, construct your own holiday wreath, and then design your own Christmas cards to send to your loved ones for the holidays. Stacey will introduce you to truffle making, giving you tutorial son how to properly temper chocolate to make a variety of truffles including salted caramels and peppermint truffles. Everyone will get hands on and decorate their own truffles to take home. There will be plenty to sample along the way! Amy with Gather Design Company will guide you through making a compelling asymmetrical wreath for your front door and holiday decorating this season. Amy's aesthetic tends towards the wild and curates a variety of unexpected live specimens so your wreath will look like none other! Sarah with Cable Car Calligraphy will help you create a set of distinctive holiday cards with decorative lined envelopes. Under her wing, you can follow templates or go off script and design a signature card to send to your loved ones this holiday season. Each crafting session is two hours long and a catered lunch will be provided.
I took my first calligraphy class in the 6th grade and fell in love with the art form. In college I studied Visual Design with a Certified Image Master where I honed my design instincts and calligraphy gives me an opportunity to blend my design and education background. A few years ago I rediscovered modern calligraphy and have studied with renown calligrapher and letterer Molly Jacques. I teach calligraphy techniques and practical application in an engaging and interactive environment and have had over 100 students come through my curriculum. My teaching style is warm and demonstrative and I frequently receives rave reviews from my students.
