Pottery Class in Seattle
Pottery Crafting Class in Seattle. Come down to experience one of the most fun and relaxing art forms! This class will provide you with in depth knowledge and hands on experience throwing pots on the pottery wheel. You will learn basic skills including wedging clay, centering, throwing, and shaping basic forms. Classes max out at 2 people, so they are essentially private lessons. I believe that one-on-one instruction is a must when learning to throw. Making pots on the wheel is a fun process and we guide you step by step to make sure you're taken care of. All you need to bring is a pair of clothes that you don't mind getting a little muddy, your hands (clipped nails), and a smile. Class runs around 90 minutes. After being at the wheel with me for an hour and a half, I'm confident you will be able to sit down on your own, and understand the process of throwing.
I first started throwing pots in 2006, and have loved it every step along the way. My greatest educational experience within the field occurred while earning an associates in fine art from Shoreline CC under the tutelage of Sam Scott. I enjoy showing my pieces, and have previously won an award at the Shoreline art show for best 3-D art form. Having spent the better half of my life in Seattle, I love what the northwest has to offer. My other passions include surfing, training martial arts, and doing fun things with the people I love.
