Best in Late May & June Ideal Whitewater Rafting For: Adventure seekers, group outdoor adventures, team-building activities.To raft the Skykomish river, you must be able to swim and you must be in good physical shape, ready to move around the boat quickly! The Skykomish for the adventure seeker who has rafter before and ready for the next big step in extreme white water rafting! The Skykomish river is considered a cold-weather river. Please make sure everyone brings lots of fleece clothing. If you get cold easily, this may not be the best river for you. Polyproplene long sleeve shirt, wool or fleece sweater, wind breaker or spray top. Please wear a bathing suit underneath clothing to the river. It is also recommended that you bring straps for glasses, sunscreen and shorts to wear over wetsuit. Everyone must know how to swim in order to go on this trip. We carry extra gear and are prepared to evacuate sick or injured persons at their own expense. In addition, many staff members are EMT’s, paramedics, Wilderness 1st responders, and we even have an ER technician on our staff. The Skykomish River is our most advanced river and not the best for reserved, first time rafters. • A spectacular setting framed by the majestic peaks of Mt. Index and Mt. Persis • Class V rapids of Boulder Drop three miles into the trip – be ready to swim! • Great opportunity for groups of experienced white water rafters looking to take rafting to the next level of difficulty. Riverside Lunch We serve lunch before, during, or after the trip – either way, we will fuel you up! If you enjoy your ride, tip your guide. Gratuities are not an obligation, but are appreciated for exceptional guiding. Our guides have received tips in the form of beer, pie and cash between 10 and 20 percent. We begin our rafting trip with lunch at 11am at Big Eddy State Park. We will then board a bus that will take us to the river put-in in Index, WA where a safety lecture will be given. Boats and guides will then be assigned and we will launch our boats. Rafting time will be three hours after which we will take-out boats at Big Eddy State Park and conclude our trip. All participants on the Skykomish river must be able to swim, be in good physical shape, and we highly advise you have been rafting before attempting the Skykomish river - 1 in 3 boats flip on average! You must be at least 16 years old and able to swim in order to go on this trip. Please do not wear cotton clothing on the river. Leave a dry towel and a dry change of clothing in your car.
