Learning How to Cross Stitch Counted cross stitch is an old-fashioned hobby that’s enjoying a new popularity thanks to the edgy, fun designs popping up on sites like Etsy and Pinterest. Once you know how to do it, you can create any design you can imagine! In this class, you’ll create a simple design that will teach you the skills you need to take on any cross stitch project. You’ll learn to stitch, read a counted chart, and even learn how to turn an embroidery hoop into a frame for your finished work. You'll discover useful tips, tricks, and strategies, and learn about cross stitch fabrics and supplies. In this small class, you’ll get lots of individual attention. I've been doing cross stitch since I was nine years old and I'd love to share this fun and creative craft with you! Price of class includes: * Pattern * Tutorial handout packet * Handmade drawstring work bag * 6” embroidery hoop * 4” embroidery hoop (to use as a frame) * 14-count Aida fabric * 1 square white felt (to use as backing for frame) * 2 Size 22 tapestry needles * Embroidery floss * Pencil

I created You're Crafty! Craft and DIY classes because I love making things and I want you to love making things, too. I'm a lifelong crafter. My areas of specialty include knitting, crochet, sewing, cross stitch, and making costumes. I offer a variety of small, intimate classes for all experience and skill levels. You'll have fun and meet new friends while challenging yourself to learn something new. When I'm not making stuff or teaching others how to make stuff, I'm walking/running in the Berkeley hills (walking up the hills, running down them), snuggling with my cats, and performing with Bay Area Flash Mob (often as a zombie). See you in class! Let's craft together!
