Learn the ancient art of Japanese Taiko drumming with Sensei Bruce 'Mui' Ghent. The Introductory taiko class will cover basic fundamental skills and history which will prepare students to advance to the next level of classes.
Beginners ages 12-adult, with little or no music experience are welcome. Taiko drumming is a rigorous physical activity. Bring water and wear clothes to exercise in...sweat happens : ) Class is taught with traditional martial arts etiquette and discipline as outlined in the student handbook supplied.
This is a class that will take place over a span of 6 weeks! Class will take place starting January 10th at 10:30am.

Dance Brigade's Dance Mission Theater is a non-profit, multi-cultural dance center located in the heart of San Francisco's Mission District. We offer a full range of adult and youth dance classes in Hip-Hop, Salsa, Bhangra, Brazilian, Bollywood, Afro-Haitian, modern and more. Our Theater, a 140-seat venue, with a full season of work featuring the Bay Area's best and most diverse dance artists, is available to rent for performances, workshops, and other events. It is also the home of Krissy Keefer's Dance Brigade, San Francisco's groundbreaking, feminist social-change modern dance company and produces events such as SkyDancers, Women Against War, SkinSongs and Manifestival eclectic performing arts focusing on women.
Dance Brigade's mission is to engage diverse Bay Area communities and artists in the exploration of contemporary social issues by creating, producing, presenting and teaching feminist and multicultural dance/theater. We envision communities and individuals connected and inspired by dance and engaged in collective action toward creating a more peaceful world.
