Come take a weekly vacation with us while channeling your inner island gyal! This one hour island grooves & hip hop based dance class focuses on hip movement, core strength, and sexy body isolations. All music is set to "reggae" style jams! This class is taught weekly by ConfiDance Instructor, Amethyst.
Amethyst is a Bay Area native and has a dance background in sacred and traditional hula with Hālau ‘O Keikiali'i. Her traditional island background and love for "island vibes" has taught her to dance and teach from the heart and soul. Amethyst formerly competed in track and field and was a coach during college. Her dance and sports background influence her love for being active and living a healthy lifestyle.

ConfiDance Fitness was created as a way for non-dancers to explore dance classes in a non-competitive environment while gaining self confidence and learning concepts of body positivity. Learn to love yourself just the way you are and leave class feeling empowered!
Shonna is from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and has over 17 years of dance training in the areas of tap, jazz, ballet, Polynesian, and hip hop. She has been instructing professionally since 2008 and in 2010 entered the world of professional sports dancing. Her resume includes appearances with two different NBA franchises, a role in the Warner Bros. motion picture “Thunderstruck”, and a tour during Superbowl XXVIII produced by the NFL Superbowl Commission. Since moving to California in 2012, Shonna has started her own dance instruction company providing enrichment classes to Bay Area schools and recreational classes to the public. In 2014 she created Pro Dance Prep, a YouTube channel and class series through which she empowers and offers insight to women with aspirations to dance in the professional sports industry. Shonna just finished her final season dancing with the NBA’s 2015 Champions, the Golden State Warriors.
