Floral Life Cycles: Designing Arrangements and Mandalas
In this class we will learn the basics of floral vase design and use the left over flowers to make stunning temporary mandala arrangements. We will discuss the life cycles of flowers and how they relate to our own ephemerality. Come ready to meditate and explore your own creativity! Flowers, clippers, vases and surfaces for mandalas will be provided. You will go home with your own vase arrangements and a new skill. Class sizes limited to keep an intimate feel and allow time for personal attention. Proceeds help fund future floral anthropological travel and research.
Flowers are reminders of life's beauty and ephemerality. Through my 7 years as a floral designer I've come to learn many of the lessons flowers can teach us. Through my workshops I hope to pass on both technical skills and peace of mind. Larisa Minerva is the founder of Bewilder Floral, lead designer for Bell and Trunk flowers, and teaches flower arrangement and mandalas at the Zen Hospice Project.
