Our Graceland - Sausalito to Tennessee Valley Bike Tour
13-mile biking round trip from Sausalito to Tennessee Valley and a 1-mile round trip hike to beach Includes: Bike Rental from Bicycle Odyssey, as well as Rustic Bakery and Café's sweet and savory picnic lunch that's exclusively made for our tour. Our tour follows the bike path from the edge of town along the Bay past the iconic floating houses of Sausalito and marine wetlands where the tide determines whether our tires get wet. Combining roadway and off road cycling, we ride for 6.5 miles and park along the fire road. We hike the remaining half-mile to a spectacular beach and dip our toes in the bracing Pacific Ocean. Lunch is served at picnic tables on the return trip. Skill Level: Beginner/Intermediate. Comfortable shifting gears and riding on packed dirt, uneven terrain. Able to hike 1-mile round trip. Conditions: Roadway with mild traffic, packed dirt fire road for riding and walking.
For the past four years, I’ve been leading tours in Napa and Sonoma. Motivated by the wonderful people I meet on these trips and the natural beauty of the area, I became inspired to introduce San Francisco visitors to the equally beautiful treasures of Marin County. That’s how Chain, Chain, Chain Marin County Bike Tours geared up. As a Marin local, I welcome you and your group as my special biking guests. I am excited to lead you on a cycling excursion and introduce you to some favorite spots in Marin, my home. I can begin many sentences with, “when I was a little girl” but won’t (unless you ask). My goal is to make your day rich with memories. Offering you my expert guiding skills, a seasonally fresh lunch, and capturing vivid photos of your journey, I guarantee you a safe, pleasurable, and delightful sensory experience. Always inspired by health and fitness, beauty and balance, it wasn’t hard for me to identify that a bike tour through Marin County could link them together. The bike provides the fitness and the beauty jumps out as a vista of the Pacific Ocean or reveals as a hidden redwood grove. With every turn of the pedals my senses are invigorated by riding through the micro-climates and over the macro-hills of the Bay Area and I am excited to introduce you to my local favorites.
