With Halloween right around the corner, take a chance to embrace your inner creativity and enjoy decorating mason jars with spooky sceneries! Hosted at California College of the Arts (CCA), this session will introduce you to the world of decorating mason jars, wine glasses, and candle holders, all in preparation for a spooky and crafty Halloween! As hosts of the craft pod, we invite you to embrace your inner creativity, as this course is especially welcome for those that consider themselves budding artists! We will learn how to use different markers and materials to decorate mason jars, as well as learning basic painting and drawing techniques when working with glass and up-cycled materials. Each participant will receive a packet of templates, varied paint markers, and sample mason jars to work with and take home for further exploration. If you have a particular piece of glass/ceramics/mug that you would like to decorate, feel free to bring in so we can discuss decorating options as well. The craft pod will begin with introductions and a general overview of how to go about decorating glass jars. We welcome all skill levels and embrace thinking outside the box as we explore the unique ways of crafting together. This 90 minute session will allow you to grasp the basics of lantern-decorating and becoming comfortable with using paint pens on glass. At the end of the session, we will also offer an optional tour of the CCA campus to those interested in seeing an art school in action. **Please Note** This class will run about 1.5 hours, not 2.
