Create a Sanctuary Garden
Would you like to create a garden sanctuary? A garden as a place that invites us to slow down. To rest. To breathe. To refuel. To be present. Join Terry... we will talk about the ingredients that make a garden a sanctuary. They are the same ingredients that make a great garden. We will learn that gardening is about telling a story—your story. We will learn about the necessity of garden bones and pathways. We will learn that there is a difference between a landscape and a garden. We will talk about garden maintenance and upkeep. We’ll make garden design fun and easy and understandable. We will learn all of this, while walking my garden, a tapestry of shrubs, perennials, roses, annual, herbs and vegetables—hands on learning on five acres here on Vashon Island. Time to have your questions answered. Time for a cup of tea on the back patio. And you’ll take home ideas for your own sanctuary garden.
Hi, I’m Terry, owner of Cotswold Garden and Design. I live and garden on Vashon Island. And I believe that every garden can be a sanctuary. From the smallest back patio to grand estates and public spaces. A garden can be a place where we slow down. Where we are recharged. To rest. To breathe. To refuel. To be present. My favorite definition of a great garden, “A place where the gardener is glad to be alive.” I am an author (Soul Gardening and Find your Sanctuary), a dad, a wine enthusiast, a golf addict and a garden designer. For 25 years I have helped people create gardens—private and public. And I’d love the opportunity to help you. Join me.
