Preserving Summer's Bounty Workshop
Lets hold on to the best of late summer fruits and vegetables by learning the art of preserving. Led by guest instructor, beekeeper, and gentleman farmer, Peter Hauschka, this class will transport you to your grandparent’s kitchen and plunge you up to your elbows in large pots of simmering jams, and jars packed with chutneys, pickles and honey. We will introduce you to the equipment you’ll need and walk you step by step through canning essentials, from filling and sealing jars to the water bath process. After mastering a few basics during this hands-on class, you’ll look forward to preserving the fresh flavors of summer to enjoy all year long. The class bounty will be divided among guests for their home pantry.
