Have you often thought that rock climbing would be a sport you’d love to try, but haven’t had the opportunity to do so? Well now you’ve found the perfect place to begin your rock climbing training in Seattle – Kaf Adventures. Objectives: Whether you’d like to try rock climbing to see if it’s a sport you’re interested in pursuing, or you’d like to begin learning everything you can to become a proficient climber, Intro to Rock Climbing Indoors is the perfect course for you. You will meet other climbing partners who share the same adventurous spirit as you do, walk away with the knowledge necessary to pass a climbing gym belay test and have a ton of fun doing it! What you will learn: Fundamentals of climbing indoors and begin acquiring the skills necessary to climb outside How to fit your harness How to tie the figure eight knot Proper belay technique Basic climbing movement Communication Prerequisites: We welcome students to join this course who have never climbed anything but their stairs, as well as those who have dabbled in climbing a bit, yet don’t feel confident about the fundamental techniques and want to start at the beginning. (Starting the Rock Climbing Progression at the beginning is extremely wise, as you will build a strong foundation of knowledge and technique that will set you up for a confident climbing career.) Equipment Kaf Adventures will provide all necessary equipment. Included in trip cost: Professional instruction and all necessary equipment. Our rock climbing instructors are Seattle’s most well trained professionals. NOT included in trip cost: Transportation (carpool options available). Snacks for the day. Transportation We recognize that transportation can be tricky. Once registered, Kaf will provide information regarding meeting times, locations and any required parking permits.
