About Your Host

Jess is a Chef, Cookbook Author, Herbalist, and outspoken food security and agriculture activist. She's the owner of Tin Canyon Farm, an Escargot & Mushroom farm, where she cultivates, cooks, and holds personal retreats. She draws her inspiration from her diverse cultural background, a family history with deep roots in food, and the natural mountain environment that surrounds her.

What we'll do

Love caprese salad? Fresh mozzarella on pizza? Learn how to make fresh, tender, creamy mozzarella in this 2.5 hour hands-on class with Chef Jess. She'll guide you through the wonderful world of fresh cheese and just how easy it can be to make your own at home. After the cheese is made, then comes the tasting... depending on what's available at the market, the class will make a simple caprese salad and learn about a few variations. Aprons, tools, workbook, pens will be provided. Wear something you don't mind getting messy (just in case) and comfortable shoes.
