About Kim Baise:
Kim Baise is a Los Angeles -based artist and designer with a masters in printmaking and sculpture from NYU. Using papier mache and organic and repurposed materials, her mobile constructions and figurative assemblages embody the energy of her mark making. While referencing traditional Cartoneria her ice cream trucks, she-ra feministas, and crying eyes reveal her own visual narrative on the everyday. Kim has taken her personal aesthetic of bright colors and bold shapes to create woodblock prints that are fresh, modern and raw. Instead of using a printing press she uses a wooden spoon to press her images by hand (as taught by MOMA artist Zarina Hashmi). She is also a printmaking student of the great viscosity print inventor, Krishna Reddy. Jikits is the result of Kim's playing in her own creative inner world. Her works can be found at One Kings Lane, West Elm, Crate and Barrel Kids, Gorman, Nickey Kehoe, Menil Collection, PMCA and more
About the series:
Neighborhood Craft Night is an event that brings neighbors together to enjoy each other's company, imbibe in good food and drinks, and make things with their hands. For each event, we partner with a different artist from our community who presents a project related to their craft.
All proceeds help support our programming and pay our featured artist for their work. We are asking for a $5-$15 suggested donation. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. If you are unable to pay, email us at email@example.com and we'll work something out!

DIY Workshops in San Francisco's Mission District
Jenny Lemons is a colorful, modern line of hand-painted & block printed women's clothing and home goods run by San Francisco-based artist, Jennie Lennick. Her retail store in the Mission District is a community space where she facilitates DIY workshops, produces her products, and showcases the talents of other local artists. All products offered are manufactured locally in the San Francisco Bay Area.
We are passionate about teaching others to slow down and create things by hand. We love helping our students make items to beautify their homes and give as gifts while learning traditional craft techniques. All of our teachers are formally trained artists, and bring this perspective into their teaching- we encourage students to experiment, express themselves, and have fun!
