Learn the basics of sewing with a machine and make a zipper pouch! With this simple project, you will gain the skills and confidence to sew many simple projects!
We will go over the ins and outs of using a sewing machine including:
-learning the functions of all the buttons, nobs, and levers
-how to thread your machine
-how and when to use different stitches.

Once we have the basics down, we will construct a zipper pouch from beautiful linen, denim chambray, organic cotton, and organic hemp fabrics. In an effort to be zero waste, all the fabrics used in class come from remnants from our in-house clothing line.
This workshop includes all the supplies you need. We provide a sewing machine for you to use, thread, pins, fabric, and zippers. All you need to bring is yourself!
During the workshop, enjoy 20% off all products in our shop, snacks, wine, and tea.
About the instructor:
Jennie Lennick is a San Francisco based artist, entrepreneur, and teacher. As a child in the Midwest, Jennie became enamored with traditional domestic craft, learning to sew and embroider. In 2010, She moved to the Bay Area to attend the San Francisco Art Institute, where she studied painting. Inspired by the natural beauty of Northern California, Jennie launched Jenny Lemons (jennylemons.com), a collection of modern block printed and hand-painted women’s clothing and textiles. Jennie's work has been featured in publications like the San Francisco Chronicle, Brit + Co, and San Francisco Magazine. We are passionate about teaching others to slow down and create things by hand. We love helping our students make items to beautify their homes and give as gifts while learning traditional craft techniques. All of our teachers are formally trained artists, and bring this perspective into their teaching- we encourage students to experiment, express themselves, and have fun!
