The day Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert nearly killed me...my rally to restore sanity.
In 2010 Angie McMahon was 6 months pregnant. She organized the Rally To Restore Sanity event in Chicago on 10/30/10. In 38 days she got $25,000 donated, permits from the city denied, and a jumbo tron. 7,000 people showed up to the event, and about 4,000 left before it ended (but not before each and everyone of them screamed at her for various reasons). This is her story. A live performance and retelling of her tale. Written and performed by Angie McMahon and directed by Second City instructor Kevin Reome "The Day Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert Nearly Killed Me is a fascinating show, one about how quickly things can go to hell if you don’t have a plan, but it’s also a moving story of growth through trial and error. Let it be known that Angie McMahon is a brilliant storyteller who knows how to hook an audience." 4/4 stars –Michael Pementel Chicago Literati
