The Mission’s Valencia corridor, a rapidly changing food landscape, is home to some of the busiest and buzziest food ventures in not just the Bay Area, but also the entire country. Lucky for you—on this tour, there’s no waiting in lines.
Meet the chefs, storeowners, and restaurant employees who have made this neighborhood a global destination. We’ll dive into classic Latin fare and burgeoning newcomers, all equally delicious.
Visitors line up around the corner for Bi-Rite Creamery’s handmade ice cream, but you’ll be treated like VIP with front-of-the-line access to a scoop. Other coveted bites you’ll experience include tacos and tequila from Tacolicious, traditional Mexican fare from Mission Community Market, and freshly made treats from contemporary patisserie and nationally-acclaimed Craftsman and Wolves. No visit to the Mission is complete without exploring the iconic murals; a Precita Eyes art docent will join us to explain the importance the artwork found in this area.

Edible Excursions is an award-winning food tour company offering intimate culinary strolls through San Francisco’s famous Ferry Building Marketplace, culturally diverse Mission District, historic Japantown, and downtown's craft cocktail bar scene. We can also ship you off to Alcatraz after a Ferry Building food tour. Not to worry, a round-trip ticket is included.
Regular East Bay food tours of North Berkeley’s iconic Gourmet Ghetto, dubbed the birthplace of California Cuisine, Oakland's hippest culinary gem Temescal, and Uptown Oakland's theatre and arts-oriented neighborhood are also available. Additionally, Edible Excursions provides custom food tours for private parties and corporate groups organizing team building activities.
Edible Excursions’ explorations take place in neighborhoods where small business owners, artisans, purveyors, farmers, and restaurant chefs share their personal food stories and their passion for local, seasonal, sustainable eats. And, of course, along with learning about each area’s culinary and cultural background, guests are treated to signature tastes from seven to nine different stops along the way.
Who takes our food tours? Locals rediscovering the region, out-of-town visitors, corporate groups, couples, coworkers, friends, family, DIY enthusiasts, amateur cooks, and professional chefs – pretty much anyone who enjoys learning about food and likes to eat.
Led by founder Lisa Rogovin and her team of knowledgeable epicurean concierges – many with culinary training, cooking experience, or food writing backgrounds – these food tour adventures take guests behind-the-scenes into the best of t
