2 Day Yoga Hike Adventure Retreat: Carter Notch
Join us as we hike Carter Notch in the White Mountains. We will hit two peaks, one four thousand footer, practice yoga each day, and stay in one of AMC's 100 year old full service huts.... What’s that mean? No tents or cooking necessary, the hut staff will provide us with beds, hot meals, and lots of evening entertainment. Weather permitting we'll do yoga under the stars! Only 8 spots available so sign up fast :) WHAT TO EXPECT: This is strenuous retreat that will test your limits while bringing you back in touch with nature. Please be prepared to hike on steep and rocky terrain while carrying a bag with snacks and layers that can weigh between 10-20 pounds. While I encourage hiking novices to sign up, I recommend that you be in good athletic shape and capable of continuous activity for at least four hours at a time. The yoga will be gentle and empowering. No need to hike a yoga mat into the mountains, but I do recommend bringing a towel. This retreat will be going rain or shine, so bring your rain coat and pack quick dry materials. CARTER NOTCH HUT: If you’ve never heard of staying over night in one of the historical White Mountain huts, you’re in for a treat! These huts are only accessible by foot, and are fully equipped with bunk beds, bathrooms, and a hut crew who will cook us two hot meals (dinner in the evening, breakfast in the morning). Each bunk comes with three wool blankets and a pillow, making sleeping bags an optional item on your packing list. Laura is a avid east coast skier, professional hiking guide, and full time yoga instructor. She is 200 hour registered yoga teacher that studied under the guidance of Taylor & Philippe Wells of Prana Power Yoga. She is a mountaineer in training, Wilderness First Aid Certified and owner of Backcountry Yoga, a yoga&outdoor adventure company based out of Boston. Laura's passion is helping people experience yoga and the outdoors from a new and empowering perspective. Laura's classes are power vinyasa influenced. Built on sun and moon sequences, her classes incorporate strength, increased heart rate, and body&breath connection.
