Let’s face it, your mother deserves this. She brought you that forgotten math homework in the 5th grade. She sat through every one of your dance/karate/football events. She even patiently listened to you try to play “twinkle twinkle little star” on the violin for hours. If anyone deserves a decadent martini, it’s her.
So instead of bringing over flowers or fruit on a stick, bring momma a drink!
Ingredients:
- ½ oz of a quality vodka (it’s mom, don’t skimp!)
- 1 ½ oz of Godiva or Mozart chocolate liqueur
- 1 oz of Kahlua
- 2 ½ oz of half-and-half
- dash of vanilla extract
- ice
- chocolate shavings for garnish
Instructions:
Combine ingredients with ice in a cocktail shaker or any container that seals tightly. Shake ingredients together and strain into a martini glass.
For the chocolate shavings, grab any decent quality chocolate bar and place it on a cutting board over parchment paper. Gently but firmly slide the knife away from you along the top of the bar to create shavings. If they’re not perfect curls, that’s fine – you weren’t a perfect child either!
Once you have your martinis made, give mom a glass and share a toast to her this Mother’s Day! And if you were a handful as a child, keep refilling her glass. Cheers to you, Mom!
